SOTACC VILLAGE MOUT SITE AT YUMA PROVING GROUND

MVRsimulation built and delivered to the Special Operations Terminal Attack Controller Course (SOTACC) facility at the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona, geospecific 2 cm per-pixel resolution 3D terrain of the Prospect Square area of Yuma Proving Ground. On the terrain MVRsimulation built a replica of the SOTACC Village MOUT site.

The virtual MOUT site, built from 30 cm per-pixel imagery and 2 meter per-post elevation data, contains mobile storage containers (many with modeled interiors), fortifications, retired/stored equipment, and other elements from MVRsimulation’s 3D content libraries geolocated from aerial imagery reference on the terrain. The terrain was built with MVRsimulation Terrain Tools for Esri® ArcGIS®; Scenario Editor was used for culture placement and scenario creation. The terrain runs at 60 Hz in MVRsimulation's Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG).

The overall Yuma Proving Ground (YPG), Yuma, AZ, 3D terrain was built from 30 cm imagery of YPG and 2 to 10 meter elevation with an inset of 2 cm imagery of the Prospect Square area. The total area of YPG coverage is 57 sq km.

A total of 129 models of various buildings and other structure and 1,688 vegetation models populate the replica MOUT site.

In addition to the SOTACC Village MOUT site, another culture area of interest on the terrain is the modeled Laguna Army Airfield, which MVRsimulation also built with 30 cm per-pixel imagery, and contains a geospecific runway, runway lights, runway signs, two geotypical hangars, and other cultural features.

The Yuma Proving Ground terrain dataset is available on MVRsimulation’s CONUS++ Southwestern region 3D terrain. The CONUS++ 3D terrain, in round-earth VRSG terrain format, is available for purchase to all customers who are on active VRSG software maintenance and are US Government agencies or contractors (for official use only). The terrain can be viewed with a valid VRSG  software license with valid software maintenance.
